On a full moon day I tried to capture but failed several time with over exposed. Finally after reading some articles online this is what I did.
The moon was shot several stops under exposed. Then using the Canon DPP software, increase the contrast to bring the exposure back and also played with brightness a little bit. This helps to make the background solid black and highlights the moon to the audience giving more details to the craters, etc.
With canon T1i, ISO 200, taken at 200mm using 70-200 mm lens, at F/10, 1/200 sec.
